Furthering a legacy of community enrichment through the support of parks, recreation,
fire protection and emergency medical care.

About the Foundation

For or more than a dozen years, the Cosumnes Legacy Foundation has been supporting quality-of-life services, focusing on programs and projects related to parks, recreation, fire protection and emergency medical care.

The Cosumnes Legacy Foundation is named for the Cosumnes River, the last free-flowing river within California’s Central Valley, that meanders through the heart of the foundation’s service area.

Under the direction of a highly-motivated Board of Directors, the Cosumnes Legacy Foundation is securing funds through private donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations seeking to create an enduring legacy in the community.

The Cosumnes Legacy Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) corporation.

Pirates Island

The Cosumnes Legacy Foundation and Pirate's Island Partners are joining efforts to revive ye’ ole Pirates Island playground in Elk Grove Park. The playground, originally constructed in 1972 was demolished in the late 1980s. Blimey! Many resident landlubbers have jolly memories of playing on the island in their childhood. Lets heave-ho together to revive the playground to offer those same memories to new generations of buccaneers!
